SALARY:
Consistent with the Professional Agreement between North Branford Board of Education and the North Branford Federation of Teachers

• Provide individual or group counseling to students identified through the Building Intervention Team, 504 Team or PPT
• Design and implement individual, classroom or school-wide programs in social skills, social problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making and life skills
• Design and implement alternative approaches to classroom management, including the facilitation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports
• Evaluate individual students using a variety of assessment methods to determine students' educational needs or eligibility for special education
• Design and evaluate interventions to monitor student progress
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team to develop educational recommendations
• Collaborate with school personnel to design alternative strategies and appropriate, individualized student programs
• Provide direct support to families to encourage a positive home-school connection
• Design and implement procedures to support students, school staff members and families during times of crisis
• Participate in building or department committees to improve school climate and services to students
• Adhere to the ethical standards of and the preferred practices prescribed by state and national school psychology associations
• Demonstrate knowledge of local policies and state and federal laws pertaining to school psychology

• Certified or eligible to be certified as a School Psychologist by the Connecticut State Department of Education
• Previous experience with middle school age students
• Knowledge of the Common Core State Standards
• Technology skills (Google suite, data collection tools)
