Role Description & Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to join our teaching centre, with a focus on driving academic quality and teacher development. The role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning through the delivery of in-house development programmes and ongoing support for teaching staff.

You will promote excellence in English language teaching by ensuring lessons are engaging, effective and aligned with best practice. Role Accountabilities

We are looking for a committed and inspiring Senior Teacher of English to support other teachers, drive teaching excellence and ensure a high-quality learning experience across our teaching centre.

This role offers the opportunity to lead and develop a team while contributing to the overall success of our programmes.

You will provide effective support to teaching staff, inclauding conducting observations in line with performance management policies and ensuring that teaching meets established professional standards and global frameworks. You will take a proactive approach to staff wellbeing, act as a duty officer when required to support teachers, students and parents, and assist with recruitment, induction and onboarding. You will also help establish mentoring for new teachers or those working with new life stages.

A key focus of the role is promoting teaching excellence. You will contribute to the design and delivery of a Continuous Professional Development programme aligned with regional priorities, while identifying opportunities for staff development. You will maintain your own teaching practice, model high-quality delivery, and support colleagues through observations, demonstration lessons and development sessions. Keeping your team informed of current ELT trends and representing the organisation at local events will also form part of your contribution.

You will ensure teaching and learning frameworks are clearly understood and embedded in practice across academic and operational teams. Working closely with Teaching Operations and Customer Services, you will support the handling of academic enquiries and complaints. You will contribute to product development and evaluation, support the introduction of new courses and materials, and ensure teachers are prepared to deliver them effectively.

Safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion are central to the role. You will help embed a strong safeguarding culture, contribute to risk assessments and act as a safeguarding focal point where appropriate. You will also support the delivery of EDI objectives and inclusive practices, including provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
