- Minimum high school diploma or GED certification.
- Possess an educational aide permit from the Ohio Department of Education or have the ability to obtain one.
- Ability to stoop, stand, squat, bend, reach, push, and pull as required by various job‑related activities.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with the help of another staff member.
- Possess fine motor skills to assist the classroom teacher and students with tasks that include cutting, pasting, and arranging materials and manipulatives for group, class, or individual assignments, and arranging classroom displays or bulletin boards.
All substitutes are required to complete fingerprint testing through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as other pre‑employment screenings. All screenings are at the potential employee’s expense.
