MIddle School Science & Religion Teacher

Overview

Catholic Academy of Waterbury (CAW), a Catholic elementary school, is searching for a full-time Middle School Science & Religion teacher for the  academic year. CAW, with its fully degreed faculty, takes pride in its accredited curriculum and programs. CAW offers a wide range of educational, spiritual and extracurricular activities. • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
• Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
• Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs and initiate referrals when necessary.
• Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school’s behavioral policies.
• Maintain positive communication with families through newsletters, daily updates, and as-needed outreach.
• Attend regular staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.

• Bachelor's degree and teacher certification are required.
• Minimum of 2 years classroom experience.
• Strong understanding of first graders’ developmental stages.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
• Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-based environment.
• A practicing member in good standing of the Catholic faith.
