Position:
Middle School Theater Program Advisor
Season:
August 2026 to November 2026
Compensation: $3,899 for the season (no additional benefits)
Qualifications:
* Knowledge and background in theater arts, directing, acting, stage production, or related fields.
* Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred.
* Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with school staff, families, and community members.
* Must meet all district employment requirements and background check standards.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, organize, and direct middle school theatrical productions.
* Coordinate auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances.
* Teach and develop fundamental theater skills, including acting, stage presence, and performance techniques.
* Oversee production elements such as costumes, props, sets, lighting, and sound, as appropriate.
* Promote student participation and encourage a positive theater experience for all students.
* Maintain effective communication with students, families, school administrators, and staff.
* Develop and manage rehearsal schedules and performance timelines.
* Ensure student safety and appropriate supervision during all theater-related activities.
* Assist with fundraising and budget management as needed.
* Represent the school and theater program in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to actively move around
* Endurance to remain on your feet for extended periods
* Occasional lifting of equipment up to 30 pounds
* Clear communication and the ability to project your voice
