Objective

To help broaden a student's horizons through a one‑to‑one tutoring relationship or through small group instruction.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate lesson plans with teachers based on the needs and interests of the student.
  • Respect the student by involving him/her in decisions about the learning process.
  • Encourage the student by praising him/her and by showing a positive attitude about learning.
  • Guide the student in his/her understanding of American culture.
  • Knowledge of second language acquisition models.
  • Experience working with students in a school setting preferred and/or demonstrated ability to make connections and provide academic support for such students.
  • Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
Schedule

Hours may vary depending on student/program needs but shall never exceed 19.5 hours per week.

Hourly Rate

$25.33 per hour.
