New Canaan Country School, a Pre‑K through Grade 9 co‑ed, independent day school, serves approximately 570 students from diverse backgrounds living in 18 different towns/cities across Fairfield and Westchester counties. • Conduct a standard load (typically
  4) of French courses in Grades 7‑9, including planning, instruction, assessment, and reporting as well as being accessible and available to students for support during designated times
  • Potentially teach a section of Grade 7 Spanish
• Serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students within a grade‑level advisory team
• Serve as head or assistant coach to Upper School teams in 2 seasons
• Fulfill additional student‑facing responsibilities of Upper School faculty member including recess, study hall, clubs and multi‑day trips
• Engage in faculty meetings and professional development programs at department, team, division and whole school levels

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Relevant experience teaching and assessing student learning in Grades 7‑9
• Ability to teach middle and high school French; the equivalent of French I, II & III.
  • Ability to also teach middle school Spanish is preferred
• Ability to connect with students at the middle school age level (12‑15 years old)
