The Friendship School is a nationally recognized early childhood magnet school built around a unique museum‑based approach to learning. Students are encouraged to notice deeply, explore boldly, and create joyfully through inquiry, play, authentic experiences, and meaningful connections with the community.

This is an exciting time to join our school. In 2027‑2028, The Friendship School will move into a brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art early childhood facility designed specifically to support young learners and innovative teaching practices.

Our school is highly sought after by families throughout southeastern Connecticut and continues to experience record levels of interest and enrollment. The Friendship School is also home to Puentes, a Spanish‑English dual language program that provides students with the opportunity to become bilingual and biliterate while learning alongside peers from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. • Provide direct instruction that supports English language development and academic growth.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure multilingual learners have equitable access to high‑quality instruction.
• Use student data to monitor progress and inform instructional decisions.
• Coach and support educators in implementing effective practices for multilingual learners.
• Partner with families to build strong home‑school connections.
• Help foster a school culture that values multilingualism, diversity, and belonging.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• Connecticut Certification 111 – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) PK‑12 required.
