INTRODUCTION

The University of Connecticut, Elisabeth DeLuca School of Nursing is seeking applications to fill a full-time, 9‑month, tenure‑track or tenured Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position. Candidates with research expertise in health equity across the lifespan, social determinants of health, parent‑child health, support for people with acute and chronic conditions (including symptoms and self‑management), and biobehavioral studies of sleep and pain are encouraged to apply.

The School offers five nursing degree programs:
Bachelor of Science (BS), Accelerated Bachelor of Science (CEIN/BS), Master of Science (MS), Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), and Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Earned a doctorate in nursing or a related field with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Demonstrated an active program of scholarship and research through publications and funding, with evidence of and potential for extramural funding.
  • Experience teaching in a higher education institution with documented positive student evaluations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and interact productively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated writing and research ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to diversity and excellence in the learning experience through scholarship, teaching, and public engagement.
  • Applicants at higher ranks will possess an excellent record of research, teaching performance, and involvement in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral education, commensurate with the rank they are seeking.
  • Eligibility for RN licensure in Connecticut is required (valid by date of hire).
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Record of research publications and research grants in health equity across the lifespan, social determinants of health, parent‑child health, acute and chronic condition support, biobehavioral studies of sleep and pain.
  • Ph.D. in nursing.
  • Completion of a post‑doctoral fellowship.
  • For advanced practice nurse candidates: eligibility for APRN licensure in Connecticut is preferred (valid by date of hire).
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence in areas of expertise.
  • Associates and Full Professors: strong record of federally‑funded research, high‑impact publications, teaching, public engagement, and service to the university, profession, or field through leadership and curriculum development.
  • APPOINTMENT TERMS

    This is a 9‑month tenure/tenure‑track faculty appointment initially subject to annual reappointment reviews. Appointment type, rank, and compensation will be commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience. The anticipated start date is August 23, 2026.

    The primary appointment will be at the Storrs campus, with the possibility of teaching at UConn’s regional campuses as part of the ordinary workload.
