Special Education Teacher - Terryville, CT

This contract role primarily works with students in grades 6 through 8, offering both resource room support and the chance to engage in co‑teaching settings, helping every child thrive.

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher License (required)
• Previous experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Comfort managing a resource room and participating in co‑teaching models
• Exceptional communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Organizational abilities to handle documentation, progress monitoring, and interventions for a moderate caseload

• Delivering specialized instruction in a resource room for grades 6-8
• Collaboratively co‑teaching in inclusive classroom environments
• Developing, monitoring, and reporting on IEP goals
• Maintaining effective communication with families and team members
• Ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations
• Fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
