A school district in Winsted, Connecticut is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for a fulltime, school based contract
. This position serves K12 students and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment with ongoing professional and administrative support. Candidates with a passion for inclusive instruction and IEPdriven teaching are encouraged to apply.
- Provide direct instruction and educational support to students with mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and Connecticut state regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
- Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments to meet individual student needs
- Conduct assessments, collect data, and monitor progress toward IEP goals
- Participate in and facilitate IEP meetings while ensuring procedural compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation and student records
- Support a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Active Connecticut Special Education teaching certification required
- Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
- Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Previous school based or special education experience preferred
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs preferred
- New graduates with appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations
- Monday Friday
- 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
- Approximately 3740 hours per week
