Position

Summary

Working under the supervision of Director of Student Engagement the Student Activities Assistant provides support to the operations of Student Activities including student event logistics, staffing and maintaining the Student Food Pantry, and assisting with the supervision of student workers. The Student Activities Assistant's main function is to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on campus to provide student engagement and student resources under the direction of the Director of Student Engagement and Associate Dean of Student Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Student Engagement, the Student Activities Assistant is responsible for effective performance in these essential duties:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the research, planning, promotion and execution of student activities.
  • Assisting with the supervision and support staff, work study, and student labor employees.
  • Supporting and building relationships with student organizations
  • Supporting the operations of the student food pantry and clothes closets.
Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in a related field and relevant office experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with event planning and execution.
Salary
  • $37.74 hourly
