What You Will Do
- Responsible for the structural assessments of repairs to commercial engine static components.
- Coordinate structural analysis requirements for repairs with other ASE technical disciplines and module centers/Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs).
- Provide technical coaching and mentoring to entry level structures engineers.
- Participate on multi-disciplinary teams to provide design solutions that meet design and structural requirements.
- Work independently on structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable.
- Conduct analysis using classical methods and/or detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Serve as primary focal for structural analysis memos (SAMs).
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- 8+ years of engineering experience or 5+ years with an advanced degree.
- U.S. Person required:
Must be a lawful permanent resident, protected individual, U.S. citizen, national, refugee or asylee. - U.S. Citizenship required due to program requirements.
- Knowledge of Integrated Product Development (IPD), Structures Engineering Knowledge System (EKS), and the Product Design Review process.
- Working knowledge of ANSYS or other FEA software.
- Awareness of manufacturing repair processes.
- Experience using Pratt & Whitney or industry fatigue and fracture mechanics life systems such as PWLIFE, ARLS, or crack growth systems (SURCK, Darwin, Franc3D).
- Strong understanding of low cycle fatigue (LCF) and fatigue / fracture mechanics theory and applications.
- Background in structural analysis or mechanical design.
The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD.
