Role Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities- Review concepts for new repair tools for all Military Engine programs including F135, F119 and other legacy programs.
- Create tool design layouts and final designs.
- Review preliminary and final detailed designs.
- Ensure tools are developed and produced in compliance with P&W Repair Tool Design requirements and customer expectations.
- Perform form, fit, and function checks; complete tolerance stack-ups, process tool drawings for final release.
- Resolve technical questions on tooling from customers and suppliers; disposition eQNs.
- Collaborate with Repair Tool Engineers, Repair Design Engineers, and Tooling Suppliers as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math and 8+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math and 5+ years of related experience.
- Tool design experience.
- Ability to read and interpret repair requirements, and engineering part prints.
- Strong working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Familiarity with typical repair and manufacturing processes including machining, grinding, and special processes including shot‑peen, welding, brazing, riveting, and coating processes including plasma spray.
- Familiarity with commonly used tooling materials.
- Demonstrated competency in mechanical drafting, detailed drawing preparation, revision, and release processes.
- CAD modeling & drafting experience.
- 10% travel.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 3000+ hours NX/Unigraphics Teamcenter experience preferred.
