Operations Analyst
A well-established alternative investment firm is seeking an experienced Operations Analyst to join its investment operations team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily fund operations, ensuring the accuracy of trade processing, reconciliations, and operational controls while partnering with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented operations professional who enjoys solving problems, improving workflows, and taking ownership of critical operational processes in a fast-paced investment environment.
Responsibilities- Support the daily operational activities across multiple investment funds and related entities.
- Process and monitor fixed income and financing transactions, ensuring timely and accurate settlement.
- Perform position, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations while researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate with fund administrators, custodians, brokers, and other external partners to address operational issues.
- Oversee corporate action events, including mandatory and voluntary elections, and assist with proxy-related activities.
- Manage expense allocations, accruals, and other fund-level operational accounting functions.
- Facilitate securities transfers and other custody-related transactions.
- Monitor operational controls to ensure data integrity and accurate reporting across investment portfolios.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal workflows.
- Participate in operational projects and process enhancement initiatives as the firm continues to grow.
- 5+ years of experience in investment operations, hedge fund operations, structured finance, fixed income, or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of trade settlement and reconciliation processes.
- Experience supporting fixed income products, financing transactions, or repo activity is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with corporate actions and fund operations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, lookup functions, and complex formulas.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external service providers.
- Experience working with fund administrators and institutional custodians.
- Exposure to process automation or workflow improvements.
- Knowledge of VBA, SQL, or Python is a plus.
- Experience with in alternative investments, credit, structured products, or fixed income strategies is desirable.
