Natchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticut’s leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance abuse addictions. Program Summary

The Clinical Day Treatment (CDT) Schools are located at six sites throughout Eastern Connecticut's Behavioral Health Network (BHN). Natchaug CDT offers special education services to students in grades 1–12 whose social, emotional or behavioral health problems prevent them from functioning successfully in a regular school environment. Each student’s individual academic and clinical treatment plan is designed to address their special needs and return them to their regular schools as soon as possible.

Summary

BHN Schools is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to serve as Manager of Behavioral Services. This leadership position is responsible for providing behavioral consultation, overseeing the implementation of evidence-based behavioral programming, supervising behavioral staff, supporting educational teams, and ensuring high-quality services across multiple school locations. The successful candidate will work closely with administrators, educators, related service providers, and families to promote positive student outcomes while strengthening organizational capacity in behavior analysis and intervention.

This position requires regular travel between BHN Schools. Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with organizational policy.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of school-wide behavioral systems.
  • Establish and monitor best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) across all programs.
  • Develop behavioral protocols, procedures, and program standards.
  • Analyze behavioral trends and recommend systemic improvements.
  • Participate as a member of the school's leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Perform behavioral assessments using evidence-based methodologies.
  • Analyze behavioral data and modify interventions as needed.
  • Ensure fidelity of behavioral programming
Staff Supervision & Training
  • Supervise Behavior Technicians, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and other assigned behavioral staff.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Design and deliver professional development for teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators.
  • Support staff in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and behavior management strategies.
Consultation
  • Consult with administrators regarding challenging behavioral cases
  • Collaborate with special education teams, related service providers, and outside agencies
  • Participate in PPT/IEP meetings as appropriate
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding behavioral programming and progress
