:

The Neuropsychologist is responsible for the delivery of outpatient clinical services as designated by his/her/their supervisor and consistent with the philosophy of Easterseals. The Neuropsychologist provides comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation services for individuals presenting with a wide range of neurodevelopmental, neurological, medical, psychiatric, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional concerns. Depending on departmental needs and the individual's training and competence, responsibilities may also include consultation, supervision, therapeutic intervention, and other clinical services.

The position requires advanced knowledge of clinical neuropsychology and the consistent exercise of independent clinical judgment and discretion in the delivery of these services. The Neuropsychologist reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services.

Skills and Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral program.
  • Completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology consistent with Houston Conference guidelines.
  • Current Connecticut psychologist license or eligibility for Connecticut licensure.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations across a broad range of referral concerns within the individual's population(s) of competence.
  • Advanced knowledge of neuropsychological assessment and psychometric principles, including appropriate test selection, administration, interpretation, integration, and communication of findings.
  • Strong clinical interviewing, diagnostic formulation, report writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound independent clinical judgment and apply critical thinking to complex or evolving clinical situations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, referral sources, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive, ethical practice consistent with the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive outpatient neuropsychological evaluations, including clinical interviews, record review, standardized assessment, interpretation and integration of findings, diagnostic formulation, and report preparation.
  • Provide feedback, education, and consultation regarding evaluation findings and recommendations to patients, families and/or caregivers, referral sources, and other professionals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, schools, community agencies, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards, organizational policies, accreditation requirements, and payer requirements.
  • Participate in department meetings, consultation, supervision, quality improvement, continuing education, and other professional activities.
  • Participate in program development and provide supervision, training, and mentorship to trainees, as assigned.
  • Adhere to department and organizational policies, procedures, quality standards, confidentiality requirements, and safety standards.
