Location: North Stonington

Job Summary:

The Clinician is responsible for facilitating psycho-educational and psychotherapy groups as scheduled in the Residential treatment program and assisting in developing the curriculum for the Residential program, based on program needs. In addition, the Clinician assists in the provision of case management services to clients in the program, as needed and appropriate.

Exercises judgment, leadership, and teaching ability in the field of alcoholism and drug abuse, behavioral, mental health and trauma while interacting with all members of the health care system serving this client population.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8a to 4:30p

Qualifications:

Master's Degree required. Independent license preferred (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LADC, licensed psychologist,). For non-licensed individuals, either (1) CAC and one year substance abuse counseling experience; or (2) three years substance abuse counseling experience. Experience treating active duty military personnel and SCCD a plus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide evaluation, client/family education, counseling, discharge planning, referral, case management, and follow-up for clients within the Residential program.
  • Provide communication and feedback to other team members as part of joint treatment planning, utilization review, and client management.
  • Provide psycho-educational groups focused on substance abuse and mental health education and/or education in an established area of expertise (i.e., health/nutrition for Registered/Licensed Dietician).
  • Develop curriculum for and provide education components of program based in areas of specialty, client and occupational needs, and community history.
  • Act as a facility liaison to client, family, aftercare agencies, institutions or Clinicians.
  • Complete all documentation required by State and Accrediting Agencies.
  • Develop a continuing education and supervision plan with immediate supervisor.
  • Participate in conferences, meetings, and continuing education programs as appropriate.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.
