Location: North Haven, CT Job Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $58,000 - $68,000 annually

Position Summary

The Human Resources Associate provides day-to-day support for a variety of HR functions, including onboarding, recruiting, benefits administration, employee records management, compliance, employee support, and HR projects. This role serves as a key resource for employees and leaders while partnering closely with the HR team to deliver exceptional service across the organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Assist with job postings, candidate screening, and recruiting activities.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Ensure all pre-employment and onboarding documentation is completed accurately.
Employee Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
  • Build positive working relationships with employees across the organization.
  • Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
  • Assist with employee communications and HR-related programs.
Benefits & HR Administration
  • Support benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.
  • Process employee status changes including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Assist with leave administration and employee documentation.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Assist with I-9 administration and employment documentation.
  • Support HR reporting, audits, and recordkeeping activities.
  • Help maintain accurate employee data and workforce metrics.
HR Projects
  • Participate in HR process improvement initiatives.
  • Support training and development activities.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources, Recruiting, Payroll, or Administrative experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with an HRIS system.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience in construction, landscaping, manufacturing, or other field-based environments.
