Information Systems Security Officer; ISSO - Onsite

The Pratt & Whitney Government Security Compliance (GSC) cybersecurity team is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our team in East Hartford, Connecticut. The successful candidate will report directly to the SAP Enclave Cybersecurity Senior Manager and adhere to NIST Special Publications, customer directives, and company policies such as NISPOM Chapter8, DAAG, and JSIG.

Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government Security Clearance, SECRET level or higher required on day
1.

• Work closely with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to maintain the appropriate operational security posture for all information systems.
• Assess and monitor system compliance, audit, develop security plans and deliver information systems security education and awareness.
• Investigate information system security violations and prepare reports specifying corrective and preventative actions.
• Review and approve (within authority) configuration management requests.
• Conduct technical and administrative assessments and integrate new cybersecurity processes, procedures, and tools.
• Support the creation, review and update of cybersecurity documentation and other technical writing.
• Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and security responsibility awareness before being granted access to the IS.
• Collect, review, document and archive security-relevant logs, reports, and files in accordance with the System Security Plan (SSP) and report anomalies to the ISSM.
• Assist in performing incident response activities (investigation, collection, reporting, containment, and eradication) as applicable.

• Advanced degree and 3+ years of combined experience in Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, Security/Cybersecurity, Info-Tech/Networking, or Management supporting classified or government-regulated environments.
• Or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; or Associate’s degree and 7+ years; or High School diploma/technical training and 9+ years.
• Current IAM Level I certification (Security+ or equivalent).
• Active US Government TOP SECRET level security clearance (preferred).
• Experience with DoD classified Special Operating Programs, laboratory environments, and DCSA assessment and authorization. Familiarity with RMF, NISPOM, NIST, CNSSI, DoD, FAA, PCI, ISO
  9001, or HIPAA compliance-based auditing.
• Knowledge of security tools such as Splunk, Symantec, Ivanti, Tenable, ACAS, HBSS, etc.
• Experience providing technical security consultation for complex, cross-domain, heterogeneous classified networked environments.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments and with DISA STIGs/SCAP hardening guides.
• Experience with cyber incident response execution and management.
