Chromebook Technician - District Wide

Watertown Public Schools is seeking a skilled and reliable Chromebook Technician to support the district's 1:1 student device program. The position entails collaborating with the technology team to maintain, repair, and manage Chromebooks across all schools in the district. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced educational environment.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience repairing Chromebooks or similar devices required
• Strong knowledge of Chromebook hardware components and repair techniques
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and complete repairs efficiently
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and travel between district schools as needed
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Chromebook hardware issues, including screens, keyboards, batteries, and internal components
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure devices are in proper working condition
• Manage inventory of Chromebooks, parts, and repair tools across the district
• Prepare and deploy devices for student and staff use, including setup and configuration
• Track repairs and device status using district systems or inventory management tools
• Provide basic technical support to staff and students as needed
• Coordinate with school-based staff to collect, repair, and redistribute devices
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, replacements, and warranties
• Assist with end-of-year collection and re-deployment of devices

Terms of Employment: $25.00 per hour. Schedule and duration to be determined based on district needs.
