Bilingual Tutor

Candidate Language Requirement

CANDIDATES FOR THIS POSITION MUST BE BILINGUAL IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH.

This role supports specialized instruction as specified in the State of Connecticut Priority School District Grant.

• Bachelor's Degree
• Direct classroom experience with children, Pre‑K to Twelve
• Fluent in English and Spanish languages, both written and oral, preferred but not required

Building principal and/or K‑12 Supervisor of World Languages, Gifted & Talented, ESL and Bilingual Programs.

• Provides assistance in basic skills.
• Conducts small group instruction.
• Monitors homework centers.
• Reinforces study and organizational skills.
• Interacts with parents, teachers and other support staff.
• Assists with conflict resolution and peer mediation sessions.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor of ESL/Bilingual or the building principal.

• Daily hours: 6 hours/day
• Work period:
  Ten month/school year schedule
• Salary:
  Hourly
• Benefits:
  Medical only

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BOE's policy on Evaluation of Non‑Certified Staff.
