the new canaan police department is an internationally accredited agency currently accepting applications for full-time certified police officer. Applicants must be a u.s. Citizen, at least 21 years of age, and have a high school or equivalent degree. Applicants must have a current out-of-state certification that meets postc comparative certification requirements. A minimum score of 40% on the chip test and a minimum passing score of 75% on the cpca entry level police officer exam are required prior to applying.

Potential candidates will be required to complete and successfully pass a peer interview, polygraph examination, police commission interview, psychological evaluation, medical examination and a thorough background investigation. A competitive wage and benefits package will be offered in accordance with the current labor contract. There is no residency nor proximity requirement for employment with the department.
