Position – Supplier Recovery Manager – Aerospace

We are currently seeking an experienced Supplier Recovery Manager to lead recovery and performance-improvement initiatives across the aerospace supply chain. This position is responsible for stabilizing high-risk or underperforming suppliers and improving delivery, quality, capacity, and operational performance in support of critical aerospace programs.

The Supplier Recovery Manager will work directly at supplier locations and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute sustainable recovery plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier recovery and turnaround initiatives involving delivery, quality, capacity, or operational performance issues
  • Assess supplier operations and identify production constraints, bottlenecks, and program risks
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective action plans
  • Develop structured supplier recovery plans with measurable milestones, timelines, and performance objectives
  • Work directly with supplier leadership and production teams to improve manufacturing flow, capacity, quality, and delivery
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and establish early-warning indicators for potential disruptions
  • Ensure recovery activities align with AS9100 requirements and applicable aerospace program standards
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, sourcing, operations, and program management teams
  • Provide regular recovery updates, risk assessments, and escalation reports to internal leadership and customers
  • Serve as a primary liaison between suppliers and aerospace OEM or Tier 1 customer teams
  • Support supplier onboarding, transitions, and alternate-source activities when required for program continuity
  • Promote sustainable improvements that remain effective after the recovery initiative is completed
  • Travel frequently to domestic and international supplier locations
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Summary of Education, Experience and Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, supplier development, supply chain, or operations leadership required
  • Proven experience leading supplier recovery, turnaround, or performance-improvement initiatives required
  • Experience working directly with aerospace suppliers, OEMs, or Tier 1 manufacturers required
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Experience supporting critical or high-risk aerospace programs preferred
