Job Title:

Animal Care Technician

As an Animal Care Technician, you will be responsible for performing assessments of animal health and well-being, and producing quality products by adhering to SOPs and OPs. This role involves maintaining strict biosecurity standards.

• General animal husbandry, test bleeds, inoculations, harvests, and cleaning/maintenance tasks
• Routine paperwork and documentation
• Operate equipment such as CO2 tanks, power washers, building fogger, laboratory equipment, autoclave, and perform routine preventative maintenance

• Animal husbandry
• Use of CO2 tank and cart
• Operation of power washer
• Building fogger operation
• Laboratory equipment handling
• Autoclave operation
• Routine preventative maintenance

Fully on-site position in Preston, Connecticut. Schedule Monday-Friday 5AM-1:30PM.

Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, toxic, caustic chemicals, and electrical shock risk. Protective clothing required: scrubs, lab coats, safety glasses, gloves. Tasks require handling birds, tools, moving items up to 30 lbs, occasionally up to 60 lbs. Noise moderate. Vision abilities: close, color, depth perception, distance vision, focus adjustment.

Pay range $18.00 – $19.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
