Job Description

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a A2R DS Manager, located in Massachusetts, US. This role will be part of the Global Services Finance team in the GS Finance Accounting process area. The Global Services Finance organization provides cost‑effective financial services and compliance to our operating companies worldwide.

The team is responsible for complete and accurate accounting for all transactions, including sales and purchase orders, reconciliation of balances, monitoring ageing, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Due to an upcoming business separation, the role may be transferred to the newly formed DePuy Synthes company. Details of any changes will be provided to the successful candidate at an appropriate time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead accounting and daily operations for GSF accounting process areas.
  • Ensure timely closing and execution of financial periods in accordance with the closing calendar, SLA commitments, and compliance requirements including internal audit and SOX.
  • Accountable for completeness, accuracy, and validity of actuals reported within the process/entity scope.
  • Drive deep expertise and ensure the team is fully knowledgeable of worldwide procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Lead the accounting team (up to 25 associates).
  • Support auditors and legal authorities with required activities.
  • Ensure adherence, monitor, remediate, and align compliance responsibilities with stakeholders; manage, mitigate, and elevate risks timely.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to achieve adequate internal and external audit ratings.
  • Attract, develop, and retain a highly competent, high‑performing, motivated, diverse team.
  • Develop succession plans and support career development of the team.
  • Ensure effective performance management within the team.
  • Engage and inspire the organization.
  • Champion and influence strategy and solutions demonstrating strong business acumen.
  • Internally recruit, mentor, and drive Process SMEs to ensure cross‑sector, cross‑region, and cross‑process alignment.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders on progress and issues; collaborate to drive solutions.
  • Champion continuous improvement mindset; identify and pursue business and efficiency opportunities.
  • Lead operational change for the greater good of the global organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor’s level degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or first‑line leader role in a shared service or BPO organization.
  • Experience leading and managing large teams (15+ headcount).
  • Track record in continuous improvement and/or organizational or process transformation.
  • Experience in a Global Account to Report function of a multinational company.
  • Experience managing multiple work migrations.
  • Strategic, innovative, and agile mindset.
  • Strong accountability for results in self and team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and work efficiently to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Clear, concise communication across all relevant stakeholders.
  • Open to new ideas, rapid change, and embracing new technologies.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations pragmatically.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or other financial certification.
  • Solid US GAAP accounting knowledge.
  • Digital/Intelligent automation capabilities.
Other Requirements
  • Position may require up to 10–20% international travel.
  • Open to work in flexible shifts to align with global or regional responsibilities (Americas/EMEA/Asia).
  • Will lead or participate in regional, global, or cross‑functional duties as assigned.
  • Fluent in English; other language skills desirable.
