Assistant Branch Manager

The Opportunity
As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day operations of the branch while delivering exceptional service and financial solutions to our members. You'll support and coach a team of Member Service professionals, ensure branch operations run smoothly, and help members achieve their financial goals through meaningful conversations and personalized recommendations.
This role blends leadership, member service, sales, and operations, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys developing others, building relationships, and creating a positive branch experience. You'll work closely with staff and members alike, contributing to the success of the branch, supporting community engagement efforts, and helping bring MSCU's mission and values to life every day.
Major Responsibilities
Branch Operations
- Supervise and own daily operations and sales activities of the branch.
- Maintain vault cash and other negotiable items as necessary to service member needs.
- Maintain adequate levels of supplies, including checks, receipts, money orders, traveler checks, and envelopes.
- Balance vault, ATM, branch and all other end of day work.
- Process and maintain certificates and IRAs on a daily basis.
- Process payroll deductions and general file maintenance.
- Supervise status changes on member accounts
- Escalate equipment, staff, or member problems appropriately.
Sales & Financial Solutions
- Proactively source, acquire, expand and retain customer relationships by maximizing sales opportunity while providing world class customer experience for all current and prospective members.
- Transform service transactions to sales opportunities according to customer need and refer opportunities to partners (i.e. Mortgage/MFS) where appropriate.
- Effectively model, train, support and coach all staff personnel to ensure that sales and service targets are met.
- Responsible for reaching sale goal targets as required.
- Proactively educate members on utilizing available access channels (i.e. ATM, digital banking, Telephone and Mobile banking)
Supervision, Training, & Performance Management
- Supervise, schedule, train and coach the Member Service staff and provide input for performance evaluations.
- Evaluate staff deficiencies, identify training needs and assist in performance improvement plans.
- Implement campaigns and challenges, motivate and provide ongoing employee one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Maintain expertise and reliably provide Member Service staff with accurate answers to product, policy and procedural questions and resolve account discrepancies.
- Supervise and promote continuing education as it relates to compliance and other financial services needs through BVS and other sources.
Community & Team Engagement
- Participate in various community functions to help promote the Credit Union's branding and community roots.
