Overview

Search for the Chief Transformation Officer — University of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut.

The University of Connecticut (UConn) seeks a bold, innovative, entrepreneurial, and collaborative leader with excellent operations experience to serve as its inaugural Chief Transformation Officer (CTO). Reporting to the President, the CTO will be a strategic leader for enterprise transformation, operational excellence, and administrative modernization, advancing the University’s strategic priorities with direct responsibility for functional line operations and cross‑functional initiatives across the University.

As a $4.0 billion public flagship university, UConn serves seven campuses, more than 34,000 students, and an extensive network of research and service enterprises.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for enterprise transformation, operational excellence, and administrative modernization across the University.
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives to strengthen institutional effectiveness, improve service delivery, develop revenues and savings, and support transformational investments.
  • Examine institutional priorities and execute roadmaps for plan implementation while prioritizing holistic student success and expanding research impact.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration across a multi‑campus enterprise; identify gaps in infrastructure and opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
  • Develop incentives and structures that reward impact; reduce redundancy and silos to foster a centralized, continuous‑improvement culture.
  • Partner with senior leaders, including the provost and CFO, to support budget transformation and the distribution/allocation of shared resources across campuses.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven track record as a bold, innovative leader with strong operations experience and the ability to drive enterprise transformation.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional, multi‑campus initiatives and influencing senior leadership.
  • Excellent relationship‑building, communication, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage complex programs, and deliver measurable improvements in service delivery and efficiency.
