The calibration technician will perform calibration and coordinate supplier calibration services for gages, instruments and other measurement equipment. Provide shop floor services of recall, calibration and general metrology assistance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform inspections and surveillance of all types of measuring equipment.
- Perform Layout dimensional checks and run out inspection checks for shop floor.
- Complete and maintain calibration records and systems.
- Plan, schedule and coordinate subcontract calibration services.
- Work with operations manager and outside vendors to create, update and enforce calibration equipment maintenance guidelines.
- Ensure that calibration data, calibration certificates and history files are completed and maintained accurately.
- Full support to of manufacturing operations.
- Develop procedures and recommend associated standards in keeping with ISO 10012 compliance.
- Participate in on-going assessment of calibration supplies, assisting with periodic audits. Identify suppliers who are capable of performing required calibrations and resolving technical issues with suppliers.
- Maintain environmental controls in layout department/tool room.
- Interact with engineering, outside vendors and outside customers.
- Actively participate, promote and comply with all EHS programs and policies.
- Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or trade school graduate.
- Use of elementary geometry, algebra and trigonometric principles together with complicated drawings, blueprint reading, specifications, charts and tables.
- Ability to plan and perform work where only general methods are available and in the making of broad decisions.
- This position requires a minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience.
- Experience with calibrating and measuring products and equipment preferred
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
