Foundry Equipment Operator – 1st Shift (Onsite)

Location:

Hartford, CT

Hours:

7:00am – 3:30pm

• Operate wax injection equipment to set up and run production processes.
• Assemble wax details into clusters and remove cast parts from molds using handheld or automated equipment.
• Finish castings, inspect work, and complete required paperwork and data entries.
• Operate and adjust wax injection equipment under supervisor direction and follow drawings, sketches, and procedures.
• Assist in the casting process, including loading and removal of castings from furnaces.
• Set up and operate shell removal equipment (abradable wheels, water jet, etc.).
• Use hand tools to remove cast parts when automated equipment is unsuitable.
• Remove excess stock and perform semi‑finishing by cutting, grinding, sanding, polishing, and nondestructive testing.
• Perform routine servicing of equipment, following written procedures and checklists.
• Report difficulties to leader or supervisor and support department objectives.
• Perform other related tasks within the scope of this role as directed.
• Obtain and maintain required licenses, operator permits and certifications if necessary.

• High‑school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of foundry equipment experience.

• Internal workforce preference for IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge
  26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746.
