BDS Line Operator

Job Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by understanding and adhering to all Silgan Safety Policies and Procedures to prevent injury to self and co‑workers.
• Ensure machines are functioning safely in accordance with GMP and housekeeping standards.
• Understand bottle quality requirements and document those requirements.
• Sustain efficiency and minimize scrap on production machines to meet company goals.
• Effectively communicate machine, process, and quality‑related issues.
• Diagnose problems and logically troubleshoot tasks.
• Make minor mechanical repairs.
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks.
• Promote a teamwork atmosphere by assisting where needed in housekeeping, organizing, packing, transporting corrugated materials, erecting corrugated, and performing rework.
• Perform master cleaning tasks when necessary.
• Comply with directions from supervisors and managers.
• Perform minor repairs to the machines during the shift.
• Complete quality inspection and record results in WinSPC software.
• Perform mechanical and process‑related troubleshooting on machines and equipment.
• Follow GDP, Safety, and PPE Guidelines.
• Be able to lift 35 lb. bags of resin/concentrate.
• Be able to climb ladders and stand on feet for the entirety of the shift.
