Key Responsibilities- Manufacture and clean laser fusion optics in accordance with established best practices.
- Perform manual and ultrasonic cleaning, inspection, and handling of optical components.
- Load components onto standard, custom, or improvised fixtures and operate optics manufacturing equipment (e.g., grinder, polisher, chemical baths, CNC).
- Collaborate with engineering to develop and optimize optics manufacturing processes.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure product quality.
- Support the creation, revision, and adherence to optical work instructions.
- Test optical components using various metrology equipment and accurately document results.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as needed.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED;
Associate degree preferred. - 3‑5 years of hands‑on production manufacturing/operations experience or knowledge of mechanics, chemical handling/epoxies, or electronics.
- Enjoys hands‑on work and takes pride in craftsmanship.
- Solid mathematical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, written specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Excellent manual dexterity, patience, persistence, and attention to detail for handling delicate optical components.
- Collaborative team player with a focus on problem‑solving.
- Initiative and flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Organized, conscientious, and quality‑focused.
- Computer skills for data entry, documentation, and communication.
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 70 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Driven to achieve with a commitment to quality and a safety‑first mindset.
