A Day Shift (6am–6:30pm) inspecting aircraft engine parts, tools, gauges and equipment following written procedures, drawings, and customer/Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/Joint Aviation Administration (JAA) technical data.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing dimensional and visual inspections on parts, tools, gauges and other equipment.
- Accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.
- Using fixed and variable measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines, to check dimensions, record results and document findings.
- Problem‑solving to determine the extent of nonconformance and completing required documentation.
- Conducting in‑line checks, verification of dimensions and ensuring process steps are followed.
- Performing Solumina required job audits for OpCert surveillance and OpCert over‑inspects as required.
- Maintaining current knowledge of applicable customer and FAA/JAA technical data.
- Providing detailed inspection certification at the conclusion of training.
- Training other operators, providing technical support and maintaining a collaborative relationship with the operations team.
- Demonstrating positive attitude and highest degree of quality and productivity.
- Performing physical tasks such as bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
- Basics of performing inspections on blades and vanes on a production line.
- Reading blueprints and using basic hand gauges.
- Understanding technical standards and writing Quality Notifications.
- Performing over‑inspections for operations.
- Advanced layout inspection skills as training progresses.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector.
- Previous aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience using Keyence or profilometers measuring equipment.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
