Packer, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Major Responsibilities

• Follow all Safety and Quality Guidelines.
• Understand and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co‑workers.
• Notify the inspector if any defective parts are noticed.
• Pack at the standard rate and palletize production from conveyor systems.
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machines, including mopping if necessary.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Rework and repack any defective product when necessary and document appropriate paperwork.
• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Perform any other work as assigned by the Supervisor.

• Required:
  
  GED
• Preferred:
  High school diploma

• Preferred:
  Manufacturing experience (not required).

• Ability to read, write, and communicate orally.
• Good attention to detail.
• Dependability and a good attendance record.
• Ability to understand bottle specifications to assure proper bottle inspection.
• Visual inspection of product.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts on either day or night, including weekends and overtime.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Good communication skills with co‑workers and supervisors.
• Preferred:
  Fluency in written and spoken English.
