Assembly Tech I
Precision Fuzing and Sensors is actively hiring for an Assembly Tech I in Middletown, CT. This role plays a pivotal part in our Operations Department, directly contributing to our company Core Values (REACH). We are looking for individuals with a passion for what they do and a strong desire to make a positive impact. The ideal candidate will have a background in general assembly and general soldering experience.
The Assembly Tech I will be working under the direction of the Group Leader, responsible for using a variety of assembly and manufacturing processes while also conducting in-process testing.
- Performs general assembly and laser welding operations under direct supervision of the GL, including printed wire board assembly, conformal coating, potting, ultrasonic cleaning, coil winding, evac & backfill, component forming, wire wrapping, and painting as required by program or process.
- Assist in conducting in-process testing, such as bench and leak testing.
- Works from blueprints, assembly drawings, routing sheets, mil specs, verbal instructions, written process descriptions and visual work instructions.
- Attain security clearance and maintain certifications as required by programs or process such as ESD, explosive handling, and general soldering (IPC J-STD-001).
- Document and record the results of completed testing and the rework of products.
- Assess the level of rework and assist in determining the cause of component, subassembly, or system failures.
- Take appropriate action to rework components and ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Make recommendations to engineering department regarding modification of assembly processes.
- Support company initiatives including ISO 9000 and Statistical Process Control (SPC) ensuring continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and products.
- Assist in guiding, directing, and training employees in various assembly operations as needed or directed.
- Remain flexible and willing to work in various work cells depending on company need.
- Report unusual circumstances or conditions to supervisor as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months to 1 year of assembly experience required.
- Basic knowledge of computers and associated software such as word processing and spreadsheet applications as required.
- General soldering experience (IPC J-STD-001) required.
Shift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
