Prototype & Samples Technician

Role Summary

As a Prototypes & Samples Technician you will help drive goals by preparing substrate, performing coating processes, calculating precious and base metal loadings, maintaining records, managing inventory, operating analytical equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Prepare substrate for processing.
• Complete all order paperwork and data collection.
• Calculate coating solution compositions and make adjustments.
• Prepare coating solutions and washcoat batches (PGM and non-PGM).
• Set up and operate processing equipment.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
• Apply customer requirements and specifications to orders.
• Maintain inventory and participate in major inventory activities.
• Operate analytical equipment (solids, x‑ray, viscosity, pH, etc.).
• Stamp, label, and package finished product for release to QC or shipment.
• Practice 5S and good housekeeping principles.
• Apply TS16949 and ISO
  14001 principles.
• Assist in troubleshooting process and problems with order completion.

• High school diploma with 2–4 years production experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science (desirable).
• Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office (desirable).
• Availability to work second shift 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
