The core contribution of a Production Technician is the safe stewardship and sustaining of a large Airgas Merchant Gas Air Separation Production facility. The Production Technician is dedicated to sustaining plant production, operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety.
Job Responsibilities- Cultivate and share basic skills for the process plant; work in partnership with more senior technicians while completing training tasks.
- Participate in Time‑Out investigations, document incidents, retrieve Airgas and site‑specific operating procedures, and report incidents/injuries in the document management software, Intelex; familiarize with the work order process and participate in essential support tasks.
- Acquire knowledge and abilities in all plant operations, including processes and equipment, and become familiar with site‑specific action plans.
- Support and confirm on‑site contractors, vendors, guests, or visitors that site‑specific training requirements are met and documented; perform administrative coordination responsibilities delegated by the Plant Manager.
- Perform job duties in compliance with all local and federal governmental regulations (FDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, cGMP, etc.) and all company policies and procedures, including Management of Change (MOC’s), Pre‑Startup Safety Review (PPSR’s), and other applicable policies.
- Collaborate with national and local product scheduling to meet customer requirements, ensuring customer product delivery requirements, pertinent documentation and affiliated reporting requirements are completed on time and with exceptional accuracy.
- Demonstrate a dedicated commitment to company policies, safety guidelines, and procedural standards; champion safety within the team by being safety‑minded and modeling good safety practices, and comply with the qualification and training program in the company electronic training systems.
- Complete the Airgas Safety Pledge and be familiar with the requirements, and complete introductory Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) training.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including 12‑hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call rotation.
- Valid U.S. employment authorization and no need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- 2–5 years of experience working in an industrial facility.
- Experience dealing with cryogenics.
