SummaryThe Machine Operator will operate and adjust various pieces of equipment to perform any combination of machinery operations. Operators in this classification are required to read part prints, specifications, sketches, operation sheets, and method sheets. They operate manual equipment such as drill press, auto tapper, rotary deburring, chamfering, etc., as well as other equipment, while maintaining product quality per the prints, operation sheets, and/or methods sheets through cutting tool adjustments, offset adjustments, and secondary tooling/fixturing adjustments approved by Quality Control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate and make necessary adjustments to Computer Numerical Controlled machines such as lathes, millers, grinders, balancers, riverters, lappers, broachers, saws, welders, press assemblers, shapers, honers, and painting devices to produce clutch and brake components.
- Maintain coolant, oil, and grease levels and concentrations on machinery and keep the machines and area clean.
- Inspect work pieces for defects, measure, and examine them to determine accuracy of machine operation using measurement gauges such as vernier, micrometer, calipers, pins, and other instruments.
- Read blueprints or work orders to determine product specifications, tooling instructions, and plan operational sequences.
- Maintain and complete production records and work orders.
- Perform production operations when not engaged in other responsibilities.
- Perform assembly as required.
- Adhere to all safety rules and report questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Apply, follow, and recommend Lean practices.
- Understanding machine practices and monitoring operations—watching gauges or other indicators to ensure proper machine functioning.
- Operation and control—controlling operation of equipment or systems.
- Quality control analysis—using computer‑based quality control and production systems to evaluate performance or product quality.
- Critical thinking—using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- High School education or equivalent, preferred.
- 1 year of CNC machining experience or successful completion of our Machine Operator Training Program, required.
- Must be able to perform machine shop mathematics and machining procedures.
The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, twist, squat, reach overhead, and use hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Lifting requirements include:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
The work environment is an industrial setting with moving mechanical parts. The noise level can be loud during some periods.

Salary:
Starting at $20.00/hour based on experience.
