CNC Setup Machinist- Aerospace
- Winsted, CT - 2nd/3rd Shift
Craft Workers Winsted, CT, US
Shifts Available- 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | OT Available
- 3rd Shift | Monday – Saturday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM | OT Available
Compensation:
Competitive Salary + 15% Shift Differential + OT Available + Benefits & 401k Day #1
- Set up and operate CNC machines (2-axis through 5-axis and multi-axis equipment)
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, collets, chucks, and machine offsets
- Produce precision‑machined components to tight aerospace tolerances
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools
- Make offset adjustments and minor program edits
- Monitor tool wear and machining conditions for efficiency and consistency
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 aerospace quality standards
- Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality documentation
- Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
- 3+ years CNC machining experience (setup and operation required)
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers (2-axis through 5-axis preferred)
- Aerospace or high‑precision machining background strongly preferred
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Experience holding tight tolerances (±0.0005” or better preferred)
- Skilled with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and inspection tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
