Position: Machine Operator 1 AWW 1 Weekend Day Shift (FSS 6am-630pm) - Onsite
Location: Maromas

Overview

Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems, is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to join our production team in Asheville, NC.

Shift: Weekend Day Shift (AWW1). Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 a.m.–6:30p.m.

What You Will Do
  • Operate a variety of production machines, including washer, shot peen (GASP – gravity accelerated shot peen), furnace, water & air flow, electrode assembly, laser weld, tack weld, laser ablation, tape & wax, x‑ray, bake and detailer, and other equipment.
  • Produce blades and/or vanes while performing all quality checks on the production line.
  • Read and interpret process sheets, gauge specifications, and blueprints.
  • Deburr, clean parts, make minor offset changes, change set‑ups, and document information on check sheets.
  • Record dimensional data on run charts and utilize measuring devices to assess product acceptance.
  • Operate all equipment in the entire work loop to produce product per standard work.
  • Clock labor and perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) with documentation.
  • Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness, following 5S principles.
  • Move about the machine line (approximately 90% of the time), bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and transporting product or equipment weighing up to 10pounds.
  • Perform additional tasks within the scope and skill level of the position, as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • U.S. citizenship required (only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract).
  • Previous manufacturing experience or education, or an advanced manufacturing certification preferred.
  • Ability to work shift hours and overtime when needed.
