Join a team where craftsmanship and accuracy drive everything we do. As a Toolroom Precision Machinist, you’ll turn engineering intent into real parts—prototype runs, production components, and custom tooling—using a blend of conventional machines and Proto TRAK CNC equipment.

You begin by reviewing prints—decoding dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes, and GD&T callouts. You plan work, stage materials, and set up manual lathes and Proto TRAK CNC Milling and Turning Machines. Through the day, you’ll cut, grind, and polish; measure with calipers, micrometers, and visual comparators; and document what you did so the next run is even tighter. Before you clock out, you inspect and maintain your machines so they’re ready for tomorrow.
What you’ll do Translate engineering drawings into precise setups and finished parts
Organize work, plan operations, and document processes clearly
Use calipers, micrometers, and visual comparators to verify critical features
Run manual lathes, Proto TRAK CNC Milling Machines, Proto TRAK CNC Turning Machines, and both horizontal and vertical band saws Grind, cut, and polish materials; complete fine finishing using hand tools
Inspect and maintain equipment to keep everything in top condition
What makes you successful
Minimum 10 years of related machining experience
Machinist vocational certificate or completion of an industry apprenticeship
Exceptional manual dexterity and attention to detail
Strong lathe machining background
Quality mindset and ownership of results
Blueprint reading with solid Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Physical and Mental Efforts:
Extensive mobility with occasional lifting over 50 pounds. Expect prolonged standing and walking, close visual work, and normal hearing amid background noise. Ability to concentrate with some interruptions and focus on tasks for 45–60 minutes at a time.
