BDS Line Operator

Major Responsibilities

• Will promote a safe working environment. Understand and adhere to all Silgan Safety Policies and Procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.
• Ensuring machines are functioning safely in accordance with GMP and housekeeping standards.
• Understanding of bottle quality requirements and documentation of those requirements.
• Sustain efficiency and scrap on production machines that meet company goals.
• Ability to effectively communicate machines, process, quality related issues.
• Effectively diagnose problems and logically troubleshoot tasks.
• Effectively make minor mechanical repairs.
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks.
• Will promote a "teamwork" atmosphere by assisting where needed in housekeeping, organizing, packing, transporting corrugated, erecting corrugated, performing rework.
• Perform master cleaning tasks when necessary.
• Comply with directions from supervisors and managers.
• Assist in troubleshooting of equipment.
• Perform minor repairs to the machines during their shift.
• Complete quality inspection and record them in our WinSPC software.
• Mechanical and Process related troubleshooting on machines and equipment.
• Follow GDP, Safety and PPE Guidelines.
• Must be able to lift 50lb. bags of resin / concentrate.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stand on feet for entirety of the shift.

• Ability to read, write and communicate orally. Good attention to detail.
• Good mechanical skills and use of hand tools to perform basics repairs.
• Ability to enter machinery safely and unhindered by physical restriction.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Visual Inspections on product.
• Willingness to work 12 hours on either day or night shifts, weekends, and overtime.
• Ability to lift 50
  
  Lbs.
• Have good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to operate PITs (Powered Industrial Trucks).

• Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
