We are seeking a dependable and motivated General Laborer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating rolling machines, assisting with shear cutting operations, handling materials, and supporting daily production activities. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate rolling machines to form metal products according to production specifications.
- Assist with setup and operation of shear cutting machines to accurately cut materials to required dimensions.
- Load, unload, and position raw materials using appropriate equipment and safe lifting techniques.
- Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Measure materials using calipers, and other measuring devices.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following all company safety procedures.
- Assist other production departments as needed to meet production schedules.
- Report equipment malfunctions, material defects, or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality control standards.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required.
- Work safely around moving machinery and equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and varying temperatures.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or production experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing processes.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attendance, dependability, and teamwork skills.
Certification:
Certified Forklift Operations preferred, but training available upon hiring.
Production areas can be demanding, sometimes requiring additionally hearing, eye, thermal, or other protection on the manufacturing floor. At a minimum, safety glasses and steel-toe (or equivalent) work shoes are mandatory PPE for any employee working in a Production area.
