Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Westbrook

Step into a climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility at The Lee Company, where your day begins by turning detailed drawings into flawlessly machined components. You’ll interpret part prints and job layouts, choose the right tools, set up high-tech CNC equipment, and keep production humming across multiple machines while holding tight tolerances.

A Day in the Life

You review specifications and blueprints, then set fixtures, machine stops, and indexing devices to prepare for operations such as drilling, milling, turning, grinding, and facing. You load and operate more than one machine at a time, using detailed instructions and standard coding to mount tools, position work pieces, and verify reference points from the control console. Throughout the shift, you monitor quality, adjust or reset stops to maintain tolerance, sharpen tools when needed, and restock materials and oils.

You keep clamping devices and fixtures clear of chips for accurate positioning, report any malfunctions or tooling issues, and maintain a clean, orderly workspace while following all safety rules.

What You’ll Do
  • Translate part drawings, job layouts, and specifications into precision machining outcomes using fixtures, stops, and indexing devices.
  • Load and run multiple CNC machines; adjust and re-set machine and fixture stops to hold tolerance; sharpen tools as needed.
  • Follow detailed instructions and standard coding to change/mount tooling and correctly position work pieces.
  • Replenish stock materials and oils; keep materials, fixtures, and clamping devices free of chips for proper seating.
  • Use the control console to orient the spindle and verify work position at reference points.
  • Identify and report machine or tooling issues; keep equipment and the work area clean; observe all prescribed safety procedures.
