CoWorx Staffing is now hiring 2nd and 3rd Shift Extrusion Operators for a leading manufacturing client in Dayville, CT! Responsibilities
  • Learn how to do sets up/tear downs, operates, monitors, cleans and maintains extrusion machines and other auxiliary equipment. Evaluates products/processes and makes necessary adjustments to process to optimize quality and output.
  • Learn how to perform line clearance activities to maintain product integrity.
  • Learn how to monitor and troubleshoot lines, product and operating equipment including the driers.
  • Learn how to hand unloads, packages and labels product as directed to ensure highest possible quality of tubing.
  • Learn how to perform moisture analysis on raw materials and ensures utmost quality of extruded product by performing quality inspections using a variety of measurement equipment including, but not limited to:
    Pin Gages, Laser Micrometers, Micrometers, Verniers and Video Microscopes.
  • Completes documentation in a timely, accurate and neat manner. This includes both written and data entry. Satisfies documentation, labeling, inspection, Cebos and QAD transaction requirements.
  • Monitors material, supply levels, and communicates the need to re-order as required in anticipation of future operations. Balances inventory and returns unused materials upon completion of each work order. Inputs data into the MRP computer system
  • Quality:
    Learns how to perform quality inspections/checks per the quality control plan/blueprint/work order and escalates issues to Supervision, when required. Adheres to all housekeeping standards and ensures workspace is clean, safe, and in working order within assigned area/s, as well as, to prevent product contamination. Attention to detail, must be able to complete multiple and repetitive tasks, must be committed to accuracy and quality.
Desired

Background/Skills
  • 1-2 years of related extrusion experience
  • Previous experience with ISO, FDA, and/or cGMP
  • Ability to read/write/understand English. Ability to read, write, and interpret all PPC documents including safety rules, operational instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals as well as measure in English and metric measurements.
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot machinery.
  • Ability to effectively use and/or learn Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, as well as PPC’s computer software for quality and production.
