Description

Ingersoll Custom Furniture is a high-end, custom furniture shop located in West Cornwall, CT. In business for over 50 years, we are world-renowned for our service, artistry and expert craftsmanship. We are looking for an experienced Furniture Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for woodworking and the ability to create custom furniture and cabinets from start to finish.

The successful candidate will be able to read blueprints and drawings, use a variety of tools and machines, and have a strong understanding of woodworking techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work with a team of expert craftsmen.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machines to construct cabinets.
  • Select and prepare wood, veneers, and other materials for use in furniture and cabinet making.
  • Install hardware such as handles, hinges, and drawer slides.
  • 2+ years' experience in a shop (residential preferred).
  • Trade School graduate is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and like to work with your hands.
  • Have a keen understanding of woodworking techniques, methods, and tools involved in the layout and construction of high-end custom furniture. Experience with non-wood materials is also a plus.
  • Demonstrate precise measurement/math skills, and embody a culture of safety-first.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work well both independently and as a team.
  • A valid driver's license is required as you may on rare occasion assist with a customer delivery and installation of your completed work
