SMT Machine Operator
Danbury, CT | Full-Time | On-Site (7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
About the RoleAB Electronics is hiring SMT Machine Operators to join our growing team in Danbury, CT. What You’ll Do- Set up automated SMT machinery following documented work instructions.
- Perform intermediate-level preventive maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.
- Keep equipment and your work area clean and in good working order.
- Monitor product during production and take immediate action to correct quality issues.
- Flag any process or equipment adjustments needed to your Supervisor or Group Leader.
- Log production transactions, quality data, and records as required.
- Work under the direction of your Supervisor, Group Leader, or designee.
- Experience working as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and follow documented work instructions accurately.
- Ability to enter data and navigate on-screen prompts to operate computer-controlled machinery.
- Ability to follow direction on repetitive assembly tasks with consistent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working as part of a team on a production line.
- Experience manufacturing electronic circuit board assemblies (PCBA).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with production machinery and standard assembly procedures.
- Knowledge of basic electronic component types, polarity markings, and values.
- IPC-A-610 Proficiency Certification (or working toward one).
- Regularly required to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods.
- Frequently required to operate machine controls, handle circuit boards, and perform repetitive fine motor tasks.
- Close visual acuity required to read work instructions and inspect components (corrective lenses permitted).
- Occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs.
