Let your journey begin. Howmet is now seeking for a Maintenance Electronic Technician in its Winsted, CT Location.
Job SummaryAs the Maintenance Electronic Technician
, you will be required to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and upgrade manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot CNC/PLC controlled equipment problems using schematics and manuals
- Perform basic and complex machine/plant wiring
- Use test equipment to solve problems
- Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC servo drives, power supplies, and feedback devices
- Troubleshoot/replace various switches and electrical components
- Design/assist in equipment refurbishments and/or upgrades
- Partner with vendors as needed
- Order parts, replace inventory
- Maintain 6S and other area housekeeping standards
- Participate and actively promote continuous improvement activities
- Actively participate in job specific training, promote and comply with all Quality and EHS programs and policies.
- Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook
- Maintain acceptable attendance
- Perform all other job duties as assigned
Education:
- HS diploma/GED required
- Associate's degree in electronics preferred
Preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge/experience/training with machine tool controls CNC and PLC
- Experience with 480/277/220 three phase power, transformers and wiring.
- Use of advanced trades math together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts and technical skills knowledge
- Ability to plan, troubleshoot, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes
- Ability to interpret instructions, prescribed routines, methods and practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Computer experience in related maintenance databases
- Background with electrical engineering, preferred
