Job Summary
The Nurse Educator functions within the framework of professional nursing practice and collaborates closely with nursing leadership and the interdisciplinary care team. In this role, you will design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs and initiatives that support staff development, clinical competency, regulatory readiness, and organizational goals. You will play a key role in shaping onboarding, ongoing development, and professional growth for nurses within high‑acuity medical–surgical environments.

• Minimum of three years of recent acute care clinical nursing experience is required.
• Experience serving as a preceptor is required.
• One year of teaching experience preferred; nursing professional development or specialty‑area experience preferred.
• BSN required; active enrollment in a Master’s program with degree completion within two years preferred.

Licensure, Certification, Registration
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut (required prior to hire).
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification required within two years of hire/transfer.
• BLS required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proven ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
• Knowledge of high reliability principles and LEAN process improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with strong Excel skills.
