Purpose of Your Position

The RN Manager at Cherry Brook Health Care Center Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is a senior nursing leadership role responsible for overseeing patient care, staff management, and operational compliance in a post‑acute care setting. Cherry Brook is a 100 bed skilled nursing facility located in Canton, CT.

Responsibilities Include
  • Clinical Leadership:
    Ensure high‑quality, safe patient care in line with facility policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards. Assist the DNS as a member of the nursing leadership team. This is a hands on roles working with floor staff.
  • Staff Supervision:
    Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing and other staff; manage performance and provide feedback as needed.
  • Quality & Safety:
    Implement infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Maintain compliance with CMS, DPH, DSS, OSHA, and state nursing board requirements.
  • Budget & Operations:
    Understand and operate within designated budgets, allocate resources appropriately and contribute to the facility operations.
  • Interdisciplinary

    Collaboration:

    Work with physicians, therapists, social workers, administration and other to coordinate care.
  • Any other responsibility/ies as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
Working Conditions
  • Works in office area(s) as well as throughout the nursing area (i.e., medication rooms, nurses’ stations, resident rooms, etc.).
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
  • May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, personnel and visitors.
  • Communicates with the medical staff, nursing services, and other department supervisors.
  • Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and holidays, when necessary. Scheduled hours may change to meet facility needs. May need to perform duties of other positions when necessary.
  • Is subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, exposure to chemicals, etc., throughout the workday.
  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
  • Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the residents’ needs.
Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; CT RN license required. Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.

Experience

1-3 years’ experience as an RN in a long‑term care or post‑acute setting; prior management experience is essential.
